In these uncertain times of this historic pandemic from the Covid-19 virus, in order to protect both your family and mine, my practice is temporarily closed. When both myself and my professional board believe it is safe, I will reopen and once again care for my client's needs.

Many modalities are used in a seamless pattern of soothing rhythms to ease your physical and mental self into a more balanced and relaxed state of being.  Every session is designed to your specific needs as well as any medical or health concerns you may be experiencing.  Every guest will be welcomed into a safe environment created to increase their comfort and relaxation.  Rest assured that all sessions are kept ethical, private and confidential.

In 2004, Marlena moved to the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina where she currently resides.  She continues to grow her practice by taking regular continuing education to further her knowledge and therefor better serve her guests.

Her philosophy for massage and bodywork therapy is a nurturing approach.  She not only holds to similar teachings as other healers, which is to do no harm, but she tries to take it further.  There is a goal holded close in the form of an intention to aid the body and mind in healing with multiple steps.  Something so drastic does not happen with just one session, especially when it takes years for those aches and pains to develop and settle within our bodies..  A relationship of trust is only the foundation of relationships with guests.  The goal is to hear each guest's voice, follow up with their needs and suggest modalities that may aid their concerns.

A practice of healing has drawn her to itself through massage and bodywork therapy, which Marlena has been practicing since 2003.  She enjoys taking on the role of nurturer and healer in many forms of her life.  Being a mother, she cares for her family's needs and being a therapist, she cares for her guest's needs.  Massage and bodywork therapy offers a fulfilling purpose in life that provides honor to affect those around her in a positive way.  What could be more rewarding?

Recently, she has added Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, also known as Barefoot Massage, to her list of modalities.  Providing Deep Tissue is taxing on the massage therapist's wrists and thumbs.  Ashiatsu has replaced Deep Tissue within her practice.  The guest will notice bars on the ceiling of the treatment room.  During Ashiatsu treatments, the therapist will stand on the table and use the bars for balance.  While the feet are used to apply pressure and sweeping strokes to the body, the therapist does not walk on the guests as is seen is movies.  This modality can be used with light or deep pressure and is applicable for almost everyone's needs.
