Welcome to ethical massage and bodywork therapy by Marlena D. Wimsett. Many modalities are used in a seamless pattern of soothing rhythms to ease your physical and mental self into a more balanced and relaxed state of being. Every session is designed to your specific needs as well as any medical or health concerns you may be experiencing. You will be welcomed into a safe environment created to increase your comfort and relaxation. Rest assured that all sessions are kept ethical, private and confidential.
Marlena achieved her Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts by attending the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL. From there, she attended the Red Mountain Institute for the Healing Arts in Birmingham, AL, where she was given the knowledge necessary to pass the National Certification exam and begin her massage journey. She was able to apply her artistic creativity to the different techniques of massage to truly make them her own. Although she knows many modalities, she blends them together seamlessly during your sessions to achieve a soothing rhythm. This enables the parasympathetic nervous system to be engaged, thus allowing clients a deeper level of relaxation.
In 2004, Marlena moved to the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. It is here that she and her husband opened Inspire Personal Fitness, a unique personal training studio in Asheville. Massage and bodywork therapy complement the activity of personal training so well that Marlena opened her practice within it's walls. Here at Inspire, clients can be guided toward their fitness and health goals through the coaches as well as receiving the necessary bodywork to achieve true balance.
